CONFERENCE GOAL Expanding the knowledge of professional educators as to the methodologies and academic benefits of using African African American literature to inspire the achievement of students of African ancestry. Renowned author and educator Alfred Tatum is the keynote speaker at the kick-off banquet for the AAAL conference. This two-day event is a historic collaboration between the Givens Foundation for African American Literature and AAAL.
