SAY IT LOUD Black Arts Movement Series by Coffee House Press The Givens Foundation for African American Literature, in conjunction with the nationally renowned independent press, Coffee House Press, and others, is developing a landmark series examining the Black Arts Movement, a period of powerful and unprecedented artistic expression that began in the 1960s and continued through the mid 1970s. These out-of-print Black Arts Movement-era books are now available through Coffee House Press in Minneapolis. Each has been reissued with accompanying readers’ guides in order to give BAM writers long overdue recognition for their significant contributions to our culture.
