Inspired: A Conversation With Misty Copeland 2019

  • University of Minnesota: Northrop Memorial Auditorium (map)

The Givens Foundation participated in a benefit to support the youth programs of the University of Minnesota's Northrop Auditorium. We had the pleasure of attending the benefit with the first African American Female Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, Misty Copeland. Misty Copeland is holding her New York Times bestselling memoir, Life In Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina (co-authored by Charisse Jones); 2014 edition and her other New York Times bestselling health and fitness book, Ballerina Body: Dancing and Eating Your Way to a Leaner, Stronger and More Graceful You (co-authored by Charisse Jones); 2017 edition. The two books were purchased on behalf of The Givens Foundation and donated to The Givens Collection of African American Literature.
